That’s no alien — it’s a star-nosed mole! This semiaquatic critter has more than 25,000 sensory receptors in the touch organs (also known as Eimer's organs) on its nose. These help the mole get around via touch instead of sight, as it is blind. Fun fact: it can also smell underwater!
