Wildlife Wonders

We’ve introduced you to the eastern quoll before, but this critter is worth a second feature thanks to this first-of-its-kind photo! Photographer Ben Alldridge of Australia captured the first-ever image of the mammal glowing in the dark.

"Where their fur is normally fawn or black, under certain wavelengths of light, they exhibit a process referred to as biofluorescence — like nature's version of a white shirt glowing at a disco," Alldridge explained.

Trivia Answer 🗳️

Clan

Hyenas can be cute too

A group of hyenas is called a clan, and it can include up to 80 members! What’s really wild is that hyena clans are led by females, who are larger and more dominant than the males. In fact, the lowest-ranking female outranks the highest-ranking male — girl power in the animal kingdom!
