Tuesday Trivia Answer:

Tube-lipped nectar bat

While the tube-lipped nectar bat only measures about 2.1 inches in length, its tongue measures up to 3.3 inches! This super-long tongue serves an important purpose: to help the critter extract and consume nectar hidden inside long, tubular flowers called Centropogon nigricans. This process also pollinates the plant — in fact, these bats are the plant’s only pollinators!
